His enthusiasm for his craft is difficult to find in a world of flat pack
“I first came across Beveledge (and Donal) when we attended an art exhibition in The Talbot Hotel, Wexford nearly two years ago. One of Donal’s small side tables caught my eye and I bought it on the spot. A year or so later, after having no luck trying to find a wooden side board in any shop or online, I contacted Donal to see if he would be interested in making one for me. He came up to Dublin to talk about a design and take measurements etc. He wanted to see the space the side board would be in and make sure the design would be appropriate.
It was a pleasure to deal with Donal from the very beginning. His enthusiasm for his craft and his genuine love for wood is difficult to find in a world of flat pack and quick buy large scale furniture stores. Donal designed a beautiful sideboard for our house, and it was so easy to communicate my requests to him also (no artistic ego to contend with!). He was very receptive to any suggestion I had, and incorporated all aspects of the design to result in a beautiful, unique and superbly functional piece of furniture. I get so many compliments on it and I’m so delighted we asked Donal to do this piece for us. I would recommend him in a heartbeat! Thanks so much Donal.”
